I really enjoyed this comic; it might even be the wittiest one I’ve seen out of the JMS1 comics. Spiked drinks have and will always be an issue within the social scene but, I think the group really managed to capture a unique angle. The theme of the comic was really cute and it leaves readers with a sense of response, to continue being aware of what is put into your drink. I do however think more could have been done in terms of the design, like adding more colour. However the ‘Evil spiked drink’ was an awesome character, and caught my attention before I had even began to read. Well done. Simple and psychedelically informative.
The title ‘Pub Wars: Episode I Spiked not stirred’ gives this clever story a feel of watching a series, which ties in nicely with the end comment that the hero makes of, “I need another drink” . This creates a delayed equilibrium which adds to a soap-opera-like feel of anticipation. The comic employs Proppian characters where the hero is obvious in her superman outfit, the helper hilarious in her stupidity and the villain blazing dangerously in his spikes. It is a pity that the clever graphics like the tail on the drink is lost in the comic-book effect and there is slight confusion between the villain as the hand or the villain as the spiked drink.
Besides that it is action packed with effective photography and illustrates excellently through the temporary equilibrium that students never learn their lesson and such sad events will always be “to be continued”.

From the outset, your comic epitomised a venture embarked on with thought! It is succint, witty and has a clear narrative from beginning to end, while tying in an issue pertinent to first year students in particular.
Clearly present are the proppian characters of hero and villain - what an awesome change for the villain to be an inanimate but evil spiked drink with superpowers!
The blonde ditzy sidekick made me laugh - stereotyping used to its full comical potential, good one guys.
On a slightly critical note, although I see where you were trying to go with the comic effect, as these are photos your'e rather limited. Speculatively, it may have been better not to use it.
But all round, well done, out of the 15 comics ive perused through, this is by far the best!

Well done on a great comic! You clearly had Todorov's model of narrative in mind during the process of creating your comic. Your characters were served their purpose in term of Propp's functions of characters. The character "Spikey" was an interesting an creative way of displaying the villain. The hero and the side kick provided the action needed for an interesting comic strip. Your story was interesting from a visual perspective as well as a narrative form. The fact that your story was "to be continued" is my only criticism, this is because the reinstatement of the equilibrium is not fully resolves. It makes the story incomplete.
It's so great to actually talk about Generic Viagra (if you read this) To someone who designs these things... That I am so passionate about it... I love the "stance" you give all of your characters.
